ehsAI Patent Issued for Innovation in Regulatory Content Generation
Vancouver, Canada – [July 22, 2022] –The team at ehsAI is proud to announce the issuance of the company’s third patent, “System and Method for Generating Regulatory Content Requirement Descriptions.” This patent is a key part of the overall IP strategy to bring artificial intelligence (AI) innovation to EHS and compliance professionals with the ehsAI platform.
AI has the potential to substantially accelerate efforts to protect the environment, including detecting sources of emissions that cause climate change, developing greener transportation or monitoring poaching and deforestation. At a granular level, AI is just as transformative to how people manage their businesses, every day. EhsAI has been leveraging AI, specifically natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML), to bring to market cutting-edge features to accelerate a company’s ability to comply with any legal obligation, not just EHS, by streamlining complex compliance workflows.
This newly granted patent is for generating regulatory content requirement descriptions from regulatory content. This is a first step to fully automating regulatory monitoring and task creation. The newly released feature of ehsAI, the State Regulation Importer (see press release), is a direct outcome of this patented technology.
The innovative approach to regulatory summarization involves identifying critical requirements based on the existence of related requirements on a lower hierarchical level. Plus generating requirement pairs including linking the key requirement to any ‘child’ requirement. The method involves generating a final classification for the highest-level requirement based on a combination of the classification outputs for the pairs and generating a set of requirement descriptions based on the final classification generated for each parent, or higher level, requirement.
“With the ability to automatically summarize regulatory obligations and related obligations in any regulatory hierarchy, well… it’s a game-changer for the busy EHS professional,” said Margery Moore, Founder, ehsAI. “Again, this is a big step forward to the ideal, full automation of regulatory monitoring and task creation.”
ehsAI could not have achieved this achievement without the hard work of every individual on team ehsAI. With special thanks to ehsAI’s CTO, Mahdi Ramezani, for leading Eli Krag, Donya Hamzeian, and co-founder of ehsAI, Greg Gasperecz.
